Rhiannon Bishop’s musical journey began when she was six years old, studying under Ginny Godsey in San Antonio, Texas from 2004–2008. From 2008–2016, she studied under Kenneth Thompson, the executive director of the Musical Arts Center of San Antonio. She received scholarships from each university and conservatory that she applied to: the University of Houston, the University of Texas at Austin, Penn State University, and the Eastman Conservatory of Music. In 2016, she began her undergraduate education at the University of Houston, where she studied under Nancy Weems and Andrew Staupe, and graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance in 2020. Shortly after, she began her graduate education at the University of Houston, where she studied under Timothy Hester and Todd Van Kekerix and taught freshman and sophomore music theory as a TA. She graduated in 2022 with a 4.0 GPA with her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy.

Rhiannon has had several notable performances. In 2018, she made her international debut in Leipzig, Germany with her solo recital at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig. In 2016, she performed as soloist with the San Antonio Symphony at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts in six performances of Camille Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals. She has performed in thirty-two masterclasses, including Seymour Bernstein, Boris Slutsky, Eduardo Delgado, Nelita True, Douglas Humpherys, Enrico Elisi, Jon Kimura Parker, and Kenneth Broberg. She has performed several times on Austin, Texas’ classical radio station, KMFA 89.5, as well as San Antonio’s classical radio station, KPAC 88.3, where she had one of her solo recitals broadcasted.

Rhiannon has won 1st place at numerous piano competitions around the United States, including the Texas Music Teachers Association Young Artist Piano Competition (2018), the Marian Garcia Young Artist Piano Competition (2016), the New Orleans Piano Institute Competition (2015), the Baylor-Waco Young Artist Piano Competition (2015), the Texas State Young Artist Piano Competition (2015), the Austin Young Artist Piano Competition (2015), the McLennan Young Artist Piano Competition (2015), the McKinney Young Artist Competition (2015), and the DeBose National Piano Competition (2015).

Rhiannon has nine years of teaching experience and has taught children and adults of all ages and levels. In August 2022, she began her own private teaching business, traveling to students’ homes and providing high-quality piano instruction. Upon the growth and success of her business, she has recently established an official title, Rhi’s Keys Piano Studio, LLC as of March 2023.
