Lisa aims to teach her students a solid vocal technique coupled with a love and appreciation for the art of singing.

Biography

Lisa Flores, soprano, holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Southwestern University, as well as a Master of Music degree and a Certificate in Vocal Performance from Northwestern University. She has appeared on the concert stage in such works as Schubert’s Mass in G Major, Handel’s Dixit Dominus and Messiah, Beethoven’s Mass in C Major, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Haydn’s Missa Brevis and Creation, and Rutter’s Gloria. She was chosen to be the soprano soloist for the premiere of David Carlson’s Constellations at Glimmerglass Opera. Ms. Flores’ operatic roles include Adele, Elvira (l’Italiana in Algeri), Frasquita, Gretel, Laodice (Siroe), Musetta, Norina, Pamina, Oscar, Susanna, and Zerlina. She has been a regional winner in the MacAllister Awards Competition, a regional finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, and a finalist in the National Opera Association Competition. Also, she has been an award winner in the Bel Canto Foundation, NATS, MacDowell Society of Allied Arts, and Bel Canto Chorus Regional Artists competitions. She was a featured soloist on WFMT’s “Live from Studio One” program. Opera companies Ms. Flores has sung with include the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Bowen Park Opera, Chamber Opera Chicago, Chicago Opera Theater, da Corneto Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Light Opera Works, Opera Theater of Saint Louis, Opera Theater North, and the San Antonio Opera Festival.
